The
SIMATIC S7-400 Power PLC is fast, tough and strong on communications.
Whether your application is medium sized or at the upper end of the range,
the S7-400 grows with your application and is at home in all branches
of industry, from modern warehouse centres to automotive manufacturers,
from packaging machines to process control systems.
The full range of CPUs gives you made to measure CPU performance including
communications, processing speed, process and system diagnostics, and
multi-computing - not only will you save a lot of time, there is also
room for expansion with a guaranteed future.
The PLC communicates either point to point or on the bus, with other PLC's,
field devices and host computers. Integrated services make connection
easier meaning the operator interface station can access and display S7-400
data without alteration.
"Hot Swapping" of input and output modules is no problem for
the S7-400. Encapsulated modules, fan free operation and safe startup
and shutdown procedures are all part and parcel of the rugged outfit of
the Power PLC.

STEP 7-Micro/Win
The
STEP 7-Micro/Win programming software makes the units incredibly easy
to use, even for first time users, and are even more friendly thanks to
the new software wizards and simple "drag and drop" functionality
of the instruction set. The wizards prompt you via menus to simply specify
a few parameters and then an executable program is automatically generated.
Using the "drag and drop" facility, instructions are selected
simply by dragging and dropping from instruction folders. You can show
and program several projects simultaneously on screen using STEP 7-Micro/Win
and you can copy entire program sections from one program to another.
An electronic simulator for virtual program testing, variable and block
status display and the facility for programming and plant monitoring via
modem from anywhere in the world make STEP 7-Micro/Win a unique tool.
The simple program structure of STEP 7-Micro/Win makes programming very
easy. Subroutines, for example, are simply appended to the main program
and called directly after processing of just a few instructions for extremely
high speed control.

Also
available are programming devices. These have everything on board to get
you going right away. All the hardware and software components you need
are already installed and there is almost no limit to their expansion
possibilities. The range extends from the portable PG720 to the powerful
PG740 and PG760
