Siemens Opto-BERO
Optical Proximity Switches
Photoelectric
sensors are used to detect objects without contact in many areas of automation
technology, for example in handling systems, mechanical engineering, the
packaging industry, etc. Siemens offers an extensive range of products for these highly diverse applications - from sub-miniature BERO, with a diameter of 4 mm and a sensing range of 50 mm, through the rugged, cubic K80 type with a transmission range of 25 m to the exceptionally precise Laser-BERO with a transmission range of up to 50 m. |
Diffuse Sensors The emitter and the receiver are installed inside the same housing. The light beam that is emitted is returned by the surface that must be detected. This mode of operation is the simplest of all, because only one sensor has to be installed and wired up. There is no need to install a reflector Diffuse sensors types include D4/D5, K20, M12, M18P, M18M, K35, M18, K31, K50, K65, K80 For more information on Siemens Opto-BERO diffuse sensors contact us TODAY |

Diffuse Sensors with background suppression The emitter and the receiver are installed inside the same housing. The light beam that is emitted is returned by the surface that must be detected. In addition, it is possible to set a distance after which objects are no longer detected (background suppression). Types include K20, M18P, M18, K31, C40, K50, K65, K80, and L50 (laser) For more information on Siemens Opto-BERO diffuse sensors with background suppression contact us TODAY |
|
Reflex Sensors The emitter and the receiver are integrated inside the same housing. The light beam is returned to the receiver by a reflector which is normally fixed-mounted. Electrical wiring is only necessary at one end. Reflex sensor types include M12, M18, M18M, M18P, K31, K20, K35, K30, K50, C40, K80, K65 and L50 (laser) For more information on Siemens Opto-BERO reflex sensors contact us TODAY |
|
Through-beam sensors The emitter and the receiver are installed inside separate housings. The output is switched if the light beam is interrupted. Through-beam sensors achieve the longest transmission ranges. Through-beam sensors types include D4/D5, M12, K35, M18, K31, M18M, M18P, K30, K65, K80 and L18 (laser) For more information on Siemens Opto-BERO through-beam sensors contact us TODAY |

Opto-BERO with fibre-optic conductor Fibre-optic conductors, which represent the "extended eye" of the optical system so to speak, are connected to the sensor. As fibre-optic conductors are very compact and flexible, they are also the ideal solution for sensing at points that are small and not easily accessible. Opto-BERO with fibre optic sensor types include K35, KL40, K31, K30 For more information on Siemens Opto-BERO with fibre optic sensors contact us TODAY |

Laser BERO A Laser-BERO functions in basically the same way as an "ordinary" Opto-BERO. The laser light permits much smaller objects to be detected, however, and a far greater precision to be achieved. For more information on Siemens Opto-BERO laser sensors contact us TODAY |
|
Laser BERO with analogue output The analogue Laser-BERO enables distances to be measured extremely accurately. The analogue output is highly linear and achieves a resolution of up to 20 µm. For more information on Siemens Opto-BERO laser sensors contact us TODAY |
|
Fork Sensors Fork sensors are through-beam sensors where the emitter and the receiver are integrated inside a single housing, a fixed distance apart. These devices can also detect contrast differences in the translucency of an object. For more information on Siemens Opto-BERO fork sensors contact us TODAY |
|
Colour Sensors Colour sensors permit different colours or colour gamuts to be detected and evaluated. They can be set both easily and accurately thanks to the teach-in functionality. For more information on Siemens Opto-BERO colour sensors contact us TODAY |
|
Contrast sensors Contrast sensors are similar to colour sensors, except that they detect brightnesses and contrasts, such as marks or grey tones. They likewise have a teach-in functionality which enables them to be set optimally. For more information on Siemens Opto-BERO contrast sensors contact us TODAY |
